A trip to Ischia will be marked by days of gorgeous sun-drenched weather. Along with its exquisite selection of pristine beaches, you’ll likely be spending the majority of your time enjoying the outdoors and the island’s natural beauty. There will also be plenty of opportunities for taking in its thermal spas and springs. Ischia has several charming towns and villages to explore all located on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Full Sized Luggage

Start your vacation to Ischia on the right foot by choosing the perfect luggage for your family. Optimal luggage has ample space, aligns with airline regulations, and provides versatility. Fortunately, this luggage checks all of the boxes and then some

Carry On Luggage

We like to go carry-on only when we travel as it allows us to grab some of the best flight deals. It’s also much easier to get around with lighter bags. When looking for the perfect luggage we love something durable, easy to maneuver, and with ample space and compartments.

This is the carry-on luggage that will work well in that regard.

A carry-on bag that is also a backpack provides versatility for families especially when you have younger children and keeping your hands free is of great benefit. Our family used this carry-on backpack on our two-week trip to Europe which included Ischia and it was awesome!

Personal Item/Backpack

Along with a good carry-on, having a personal item makes the strategy work as well. A useful backpack will be versatile enough to use to pack clothing and other essentials and also can be used when you’re out and about touring Ischia. This is the backpack that you’re looking for.

Ischia is known for its plentiful beaches and surely you’ll spend quite a bit of time during your trip visiting the beaches. Be prepared with swimsuits for the entire family.

This one piece is excellent as well as these modern swim trunks.

You can also check out these swimsuits for girls and boys quick dry swim trunks that will be great for your trips to the beach.

Beach on Ischia, Italy

Sunscreen with high SPF

Protect your family with good sunscreen for all of the time that you’ll likely spend on the beach. This sunscreen stick is also helpful since it’s not a liquid which makes getting through airport security easier.

Lightweight coverups

Spend time around the beach and pool during your trip and look good doing it with this crochet swim cover-up. It’s a mini dress length and comes in a variety of colors.

Flip flops/water shoes

All of the beaches on Ischia aren’t smooth sand, some consist of pebbles or some mixture of the two. Having some protection for your feet is ideal. This is also a good idea if you plan on visiting any of the thermal spas on the island.

These are a great option for women and some for men.

There are some great beach shoes for boys and girls.

Wet dry bag for swimwear

Transporting wet swimwear can be a challenge especially when you’re moving from one location to the next. This wet-dry bag makes it easy. It has a handle, enough space, and is completely waterproof.

Light and breathable clothing

Traveling to Ischia in the summer means that it will be nice and warm (even hot) during your visit. This is the best time to bring summer outfits that are light and comfortable to wear. Discover the perfect pieces to enhance your wardrobe for your Ischia journey right here.

Comfortable walking shoes

To get around Ischia you’ll likely be using either the bus or a car. But once you arrive at your destination you’ll get to do a lot of walking since it’s the best way to see the villages that are on the island. For women, these are excellent for exploring Ischia.

For men, these are comfortable and smart.

And for the kids, these are classic and sensible.

One of the best ways to keep cool and keep the sun off of you is to wear a hat. Of course, there are plenty of options to choose from, but this one is perfect for those sunny Ischia days. For men, something similar is equally good.

Ischia is full of sunlight, which makes visiting here so nice. With all of that sunlight, you’ll want to be protected and comfortable. There’s a great way to do that and look stylish at the same time. These frames are perfect for your trip to Ischia and these shades are great for the kids.

Light jackets or sweater

The weather is nearly always perfect in Ischia, but there are times when the night can bring a bit of a chill. For these occasions, you’ll want to have an extra layer to keep you warm.

Try out this sweater to keep the chill off.

Men can go with this version.

Basic First aid supplies

A compact portable first aid kit is a practical thing to have no matter where you plan to vacation. This first aid kit is perfect for travel. It’s small, easy to pack but has the necessities in case of an emergency.

Aloe Vera for sunburn relief

Spending a lot of time at the beach in the sun means an increased chance of sunburn. It can happen quickly and unexpectedly when you’re having fun. This aloe vera will help to soothe burned skin.

Reusable shopping bags for local markets

One of the best ways to travel on a budget and sustainably is to purchase food for meals at local markets. We love to take advantage of the full kitchens at our accommodations.

We typically book through home-sharing companies like VRBO and Airbnb for this benefit. A small bag that folds down fits in your luggage easily and is handy when carrying your food purchases from the market back to your apartment.

Eco-friendly sunscreen

Sunscreen is a must on a beach vacation. This sunscreen does the job and is also eco-friendly so it’s great to use for your family.

Water bottles

Instead of repeatedly purchasing plastic bottles, why not use this refillable spill-proof bottle? It’s insulated so it’s guaranteed to keep your water cold throughout the day. Our family took this bottle across Europe for two weeks and loved it. Plus it has a built-in straw!

Passport, laptop, boarding passes

One of the first things you should do when planning your trip to Ischia is to verify that you have updated passports for everyone in your family.

For United States citizens, your passport not only has to be current but it’s recommended that you have up to six months eligibility past your planned departure date.

For more information regarding visitors’ requirements check Italy’s official website here.

Plug adapters

Making sure that your devices work once you reach Ischia should be a top priority given their daily usage. Outlets in Italy may vary compared to what you’re used to at home.

This means that you’ll need an adapter that will allow you to use your device with the outlets in Italy. This is the one that we used for our trip to Italy and it was excellent.

Also, keep in mind that there is a difference between an adapter and a converter. Check that your device is compatible with the European standard voltage of 220V.

Ischia is a tremendous place for a family vacation. Making sure that you have what you need packed and ready to go will help you have an amazing experience in this Mediterranean paradise. Once you have your things packed you need to figure out what you want to do when you get there. Check out this itinerary to ensure that you don’t miss a thing during your visit.
