ACCOMMODATIONS AT A GLANCE

Great Location

TRYP boasts a prime location in Midtown West, Manhattan, just moments away from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station, one of the city’s largest subway hubs.

The Vessel NYC

A mere 15-minute walk will take you to the vibrant Times Square, with other notable attractions like the High Line, Hudson Yards, The Edge, and the Empire State Building also within easy reach. If you’re looking to navigate the city via subway, TRYP offers an ideal home base.

Despite its central location in the bustling streets of Manhattan, the hotel is situated on a quieter side street, ensuring a peaceful night’s sleep. Additionally, its proximity to a local police station enhances the sense of security, making it a safe and convenient choice for your New York City stay.

We had reserved a double room for our family of four, but due to availability issues, the hotel upgraded us to connecting rooms—one with a king-sized bed and the other with a queen-sized bed.

This arrangement provided us with ample space, including two bathrooms, which was an unexpected but welcome luxury. The rooms were not only clean and comfortable but also modern and stylish, offering a refreshing departure from standard hotel decor. They felt anything but stale and boring.

While the queen room was typical in size for New York City, the king room was exceptionally spacious—one of the largest we’ve encountered in the city.

Both rooms were well-equipped with a desk, a fridge, and an armoire for storing clothes; the armoire in the king room was notably large. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our accommodations.

Budget Friendly

Finding an affordable hotel room in Midtown Manhattan for a family of four can be challenging, but we managed to secure a great deal, particularly impressive since we visited in August.

The rates at this hotel are generally reasonable, making a New York City trip more accessible for families.

Be aware of some additional costs when booking: the hotel charges a $25 per night resort fee, and there’s a $150 hold placed on your credit card at check-in, which is released after you depart.

For those driving into the city, we recommend finding long-term parking. We located a convenient lot just around the corner on 34th Street with reasonable rates, only a five-minute walk from the hotel.

OUR FAMILY’S STAY

Our stay at TRYP was thoroughly enjoyable. Although we initially didn’t anticipate having connecting rooms, this turned out to be a delightful upgrade from what we had booked, and it’s an option we will consider in the future.

The key factors for us when choosing a hotel are cleanliness, location, and price, and TRYP excelled in all these areas. It’s an ideal choice for families visiting NYC on a budget.

The convenience of being right in the heart of Manhattan, coupled with the nearby subway access, made exploring the city a breeze.

Our interactions with the hotel staff were limited, but everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. Both check-in and check-out processes were smooth and hassle-free.
