DAY THREE
Palace of Versailles
Just beyond Paris’ outskirts lies one of the world’s most magnificent palaces: Versailles, a testament to King Louis XIV’s opulence and grandeur. Constructed in elegant French Baroque style, this architectural marvel impresses visitors with its splendor.
A tour through the palace unveils treasures such as the dazzling Hall of Mirrors, the Royal Chapel, and the chambers of the King and Queen.
Adjacent to the palace sprawls the Palace Gardens, a vast complex of meticulously manicured greenery.

Since Versailles lies outside the city limits, allow for approximately 45 minutes for travel from Paris. Opting for the RER C train to Versailles Rive Gauche station is the most efficient way to reach Versailles.
From there, a pleasant 10-15 minute walk leads to the palace. Remember, the RER C train system operates separately from the regular Paris metro, so ensure you’re familiar with its routes. You can access a map of RER C train stops here for reference.
Montmartre/Sacre Coeur
On your return to Paris, make sure to explore Montmartre, a historic Parisian district renowned for its bohemian ambiance and rich artistic legacy. This quaint, picturesque neighborhood is brimming with art studios, galleries, and a vibrant creative energy.
It’s also home to the magnificent Sacré-CÅ“ur Basilica, situated atop the highest point in Paris, offering panoramic views of the city.
HOW TO GET AROUND PARIS
Navigating Paris with your family is hassle-free thanks to its extensive and efficient public transportation system. The metro, a cornerstone of this system, stands out as one of the finest ways to traverse the city.
While London’s Tube garners much attention, Paris’ metro is equally commendable, boasting 16 lines covering nearly every corner of the city. The stations are user-friendly, ensuring even first-time visitors can navigate with ease.
During our Paris visit, we found the metro to be swift and user-friendly, with trains arriving regularly, eliminating concerns about missing our ride.
In addition to the metro, the bus network offers another convenient mode of transportation, complementing the metro system and extending to areas beyond its reach.
Paris is also conducive to walking, which, combined with the metro, should form the core of your transportation plan during your visit. Walking allows you to uncover hidden gems and explore the city’s fascinating offerings at your own pace.
