OUR VISIT TO MERCADO DE SAN MIGUEL
On our first day in Madrid, we dove straight into Mercado de San Miguel—and instantly fell in love with the place. The market is packed with options, and we wasted no time sampling a bit of everything: melt-in-your-mouth jamón, fresh salmon, and of course, warm, crispy churros.
Every bite was as delicious as the last. The market’s layout lets you pick and choose from various stalls, so you can try small portions and experience a broad taste of Madrid’s culinary offerings in one spot.
It’s true that the market was bustling, especially since we were there during the lunch rush, but the energy added to the experience. It’s popular for a reason, after all.
The only downside? Finding a place to sit is almost impossible. But even standing elbow-to-elbow with fellow food lovers, we left with a few new favorites and a better sense of what makes Madrid’s food scene so special.
