Rich History and Culture
London’s history goes back over 2,000 years and we felt it as we made our way through its ancient streets. You’ll marvel at the iconic landmarks that dot the city that have shaped British and global history.
A visit to the Tower of London is a magnificent trip back in time to the days of kings, queens and empire. It’s an awesome place to visit and was one of our favorite places in London. There’s so much to explore and is a wonderful place for kids to enjoy and learn about history. Buckingham Palace with its Changing of the Guard ceremony offers a peek into the British monarchy, while Westminster Abbey is a Gothic masterpiece that has been the site of royal coronations and weddings for centuries.
For history enthusiasts, these are just the tip of the iceberg. From the historic significance of St. Paul’s Cathedral to the ancient Roman wall remains scattered across the city, London is an open-air museum waiting to be explored.
World-Class Museums and Galleries
If you’re looking for a cultural experience, London’s museums and art galleries rank among the best in the world. The British Museum houses a vast collection of artifacts from around the globe, including the famous Rosetta Stone and Egyptian mummies.
If you love art, the Tate Modern and the National Gallery should be on your list, offering incredible works from artists like Monet, Van Gogh, and Picasso.
The best part? Many of these institutions are free to visit, making London a haven for art and history lovers on a budget. Other notable stops include the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum, and the Science Museum, which are ideal for both adults and kids.

We had delicious experiences trying both traditional British food as well as international food as we tried out a couple of restaurants in and around Chinatown, including some of the best noodles that we’ve ever had at Lanzhou Lamian Noodle Bar.
It was so good that we came back the next day! So don’t make the mistake of thinking that London is all fish and chips because there is so much more to explore.
