WEATHER

Located on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea, Ischia is known for its mild Mediterranean climate. The summers are warm and sunny which is perfect for exploring the island’s many beaches and charming villages.

With so many wonderful outdoor experiences to be enjoyed including the natural hot springs the weather is an important part of a visit to Ischia. 

Visiting in the summer months brings beautiful weather with temperatures typically in the 80s. The mild climate also means that the sea temperature is great for a day at the beach with temperatures often in the 70s.

Summer also provides plenty of sunshine and little rainfall with mostly clear beautiful skies.

Even if you happen to visit in the winter, temperatures are often mild enough to enjoy the island.

FOOD

Ischia is an ideal location to go to find some of the most delicious, authentic Italian dishes. You’ll find plenty of great seafood as well. Ischia has its version of pizza and local pasta dishes such as Ravioli Capresi and Linguine all’Ischitana. 

There is wine that is produced on the island from a variety of local grapes. Ischia is also known for producing Limoncello, a lemon-flavored liquor that was one of the best things that I tried while in Italy.

Of course, throughout the island, you’ll be able to find perhaps the most popular Italian treat, gelato. 

BEACHES

Ischia has some of the best beaches in the region, so any stay on the island has to include some time at the beach. Maronti Beach near the village of Sant’Angelo is perhaps the best beach.

It has a long expansive beach along with great amenities which include sunbeds and great changing facilities.

Our family enjoyed our time there, it was beautiful, the water was great and it was a lot of fun.

Citara Beach is another excellent beach to visit. What makes this location unique is its natural hot springs. These are present along the coast that mix with the sea.

It features golden sand and is in a great location near the Poseidon Gardens. 

Other notable beaches on the island include Spiaggia dei Pescatori, Cartaromana Beach and Cava dell’Isola Beach.

SPAS

Ischia boasts numerous thermal springs with mineral-rich waters renowned for their therapeutic properties. These waters are believed to offer various health benefits, including promoting skin health, alleviating muscle tension, and enhancing overall well-being.
